These rules are enforced in software — not buried in a PDF. Every reservation confirmation, every WhatsApp notification, and every opportunity page surfaces the rule the trader is about to trigger.
The moment a pool seals, our partner bank locks the USD rate via a forward contract. Cedi depreciation between reservation and factory payment is absorbed by the platform, not by the trader.
If a pool reaches ≥ 70% but not 100% by the deadline, the SKU mix is auto-rebalanced (fewer cartons, same three lines). Under 70% and every trader is fully refunded from escrow within 48 hours.
Tema demurrage after free days (~USD 150/container/day) is quoted upfront per pool and shown as a line item. If the delay is the platform's or agent's fault, the platform eats it.
Reservations require a 50% deposit within 24h and 100% before pool close. Missed second tranche forfeits 5% and the units are offered to the waitlist at the same locked price.
Each trader gets a sub-house Bill of Lading proving their portion of the container cleared Tema. Non-negotiable — this is the document that wins any dispute at the bonded warehouse.
Funds release from escrow only against: (1) factory-issued commercial invoice + packing list, (2) confirmed master B/L, (3) ICUMS-cleared status from GRA. Miss any trigger, funds stay locked.
Every cooking oil, rice, and tomato paste brand in the pool must carry a valid FDA Ghana registration number. Unregistered brands get detained at Tema — the platform blocks the listing before that happens.
Products meet Ghana Standards Authority guidelines: fortified Vitamin A for cooking oil, moisture and broken-grain thresholds for rice, minimum Brix for tomato paste.
TradePooling operates as a Technology Service Provider facilitating bank-held escrow — a formal letter to the Bank of Ghana FinTech and Innovation Office lets us launch without a full PSP licence upfront.
